Digital Story

For this assignment you will tell a story using images, sound and your own voice. The subject - your culture. It can be about where your family is from, music or art you like, stories from your life; anything that celebrates who you are. To see some examples, click here.

Step 1: Write Story (20 points)

Your story should be at least a paragraph long and read about one minute in length. Remember, you are telling a story, so try to make it engaging. Once your rough draft is completed, show it to me and we can revise for grammar.

Step 2: Create Storyboard/Image List (10 points)

Break your story down into visuals and make a list of images (12 minimum) you will need to create or find. Make a storyboard with a frame for each image (for people, draw stick figures; for a car, a rectangle with wheels, etc.) You can also make notes for sound effects or music.

Step 3: Create Images (30 points)

You have many options for creating images:

* By hand (drawing, make a collage,etc).
* Take pictures with a digital camera.
* Pictures from the Internet
* Use Photoshop to create images from multiple sources

You must have at least 12 images.

Step 4: Record Narration (10 points)

At various points I will be taking people into room 314 to be recorded reading their stories. Please be ready to do this.

Step 5: Edit Your Video Story in iMovie (30 points)

You will use iMovie software to put your story and images together on the computer. You may add music and need to have two sound effects. These can be found in iMovie, on the web or create them yourself! There will be a tutorial on how to do this in class.
